Sand and gravel

Jackie, Gabi, Dylan and I started our trip from home in Sydney. This was during January 2008 and was only a holiday, unfortunately no long trips as yet, but we are planning for some in the very near future.

Crescent Head is predominately a surf haven and we use this area to satisfy our surf thirst. However, as Crescent is surrounded by National Park it is the ideal place to give the Pajero a workout.

We decided to head south from Crescent Head along the Plommer Road which eventualy joins up with Port Macquarie. A gravel road winds its way along the coast with prestine water and views. Obviously we stopped and had some surf all by ourselves and explored some of the beaches in the Pajero.

Once back on the gravel road and heading south, the road combined into ruts and gravel and eventually into a very narrow ,part sand, part mud track along the back of Queens Beach. Fantastic light 4 wheel driving. After about half an hour we arrived at the car Ferry which took us across the River to Port Macquarie.

Once back in Crescent Head we headed north for about 10mins and went out onto the beach and spent the day 4 wheeling over dunes and surfing our hearts out.

We will be back!
