Wilson family adventure
After I broke my leg five years ago I had to take nine months off work so my husband, John decided to buy a Pajero and take our entire family around Australia.
We picked the Pajero up from Canberra where we would begin our journey. My husband John was put in charge of planning the trips and I was in charge of the day to day running of our ‘Pajero home’. This trip was all about our family bonding with each other and enjoying the beautiful Australian landscape.
It was a real thrill for us to take our children to the Canning Stock route, one of the most remote public tracks on the face of the Earth. It’s an arduous, demanding and very isolated journey through some of the most spectacular desert country you’ll ever see which has enabled us to really communicate with each other. Hopefully something we’ll have forever.
Getting back to the basics was also really refreshing for us, we could really clear our minds. We’d just sit down at night and there was no one else on the Earth, just the beautiful white snappy gums, our little campfire and our family.
