Gunbarrel Highway

Wash-outs, rough corrugations, sand, stone and floodplains are typical elements of the terrain to be covered on the Gunbarrel. Be prepared: carry all water, spares and food. Conditions vary depending on weather, traffic volume and how long since a grader has passed. Trailers suffer on this track. Caravans are not advised.

 

·         Best travelled: April to October.

·         Start and Finish point: Wiluna – Warburton.

·         Total distance: 826km.

·         Approx time to cover: 2 to 3 days.

·         Longest distance between fuel supplies: Carnegie to Warburton (485).

·         Availability of other supplies: Wiluna, Carnegie, Warburton.

·         Rating: Hard.
