Anne Beadell Highway:
 
One of Len Beadell’s most famous tracks; camping is permitted within 50 - 100m of the road unless signed otherwise. Sections pass through private property and Aboriginal lands, which require permits. Take adequate supplies of water to cover the entire trip.
·         Best travelled: May to September.
·         Start and finish points: Coober Pedy – Laverton
·         Total distance: 1338km
·         Approx time to cover: Give yourself at least 5 days. Eight days will allow for an easier drive for both you and your vehicle.
·         Longest distance between fuel supplies: From Coober Pedy to the Ilkurlka Roadhouse (750km).
·         Track rating: Medium to hard.
·         Permits and contacts: There are a wide range of permits necessary. Some take up to eight weeks to obtain.
