Katherine to Kununurra

Tuesday 10th August left Pine Creek for Katherine. Spent Wednesday there and we had a lazy day whilst our travel companions visited Katherine Gorge and other attractions. We didn't go this time as seen all the area previously. Managed to vote and get a good shop done. Left Katherine on Thursday morning and headed to our planned camp site at Timber Creek. Unfortunately the national park site was full so we had to then camp at the Timber Creek caravan Park. Nice spot with plenty of shade. Next day off to Policemans Point to...

Carmor Plains and Kakadu

Wednesday 4th August sees us packing up at Tumbling Waters and headed towards Kakadu. We have a couple of over nighters planned at Shady Camp and Carmor Plains Station on the way. Arrived at Shady Camp which is on the Mary River and is a popular camping and fishing spot. Expected that we were going to encounter our first rough corrugated road but it is now tar for a substantial part and the gravel road is great. Afraid our timing was not right as the tides were low for the short time we were there so fishing was a...

Darwin

Now that we have arrived and settled at our caravan park “Tumbling Waters” at Berry Springs that is approximately 67klm south of Darwin we are now planning our trips and ventures for the next two weeks. On the Friday we all had an easy day resting. Saturday saw the boys take off and do some “boy shopping”, stuff for the cars, vans and Baz looked around for a satellite TV set up. No luck there as it was Darwin show weekend and all shops shut except for camping and cars joints. Jen was buisy doing her hairdressing...

Rockhampton To Darwin

Saturday 17th July left Leighs place near Yeppoon to head to Mt Isa to meet our fellow travellers. Had spnt Friday with Leigh and Charlie and had a nice meal at their local resturant. Did a quick tour of Yeppoon and did some necessary shopping. Got about 100ks out of Rockhampton when we realised we had left our rump steak in Leigh's freezer. Oh well!! Just getting fuel in Blackwater when Leigh rings and tells us we have left van keys on his kitchen bench. Thank god or heads are attached!!! No probs as we can access van...
