4wd club helps out.

During 2007, members of the South Gippsland 4wd club helped the Licola comunity with tidying up the town and surounding area after the devistating bush fires. We spent two days roling up burn't fences from farm land and road sides, it was hard dirty but enjoyable work.
Unfortunatly, before the year was over the small isolated district was hit by two floods, the combination of which took away a lot of the new fences etc: that were rebuilt after the fires, it was really heart breaking to all the locals and the 4wd comunity, which had put in a lot of volintary work.
Last summer (2007-08) the camping area around Licola was not accesable due to the roads & bridges being impasable  since then there hase been a huge effort by the road crews, locals, and mother nature, to repair the damage.
The camp grounds are not all open yet, and some may never be, but the town and the bush have recovered well. All it needs now is the campers to return and support the local buisneses. It's a great place and we all love it.

Mitsubishi Pajero Philip & Leanne, we have done a lot of looking around over the last 20 years. Soon we hope to be spending more time filling in the gaps.
