After spending Christmas in Seattle and New Years in New York - Alice and I headed to Vegas to party like a Rockstar with Josh. 3 days of madness, clubbing, gambling and shopping we were ready for the flight to Liberia to lie on Tamarindo beach for 4 days. Even in Tamarindo we managed to find a "ladies night" were girls drink free and Josh loves that all the American girls are drinking free.......

As the buses did not go where we wanted to go - we hired a car and was told a 4WD was essential. We picked up "Jimmy" and became fast friends as he dominated his first muddy river cross that the truck before us had got stuck on.

We got the top level insurance and were very diligent the entire trip to never leave Jimmy alone if we had anything in the car at all - even a towel - as it will get broken into.

After carting and strapping the first ever pair of snow skis to visit Costa Rica - we headed South.

Well we started to head South - but went inland to one of the only petrol stations in the area - we were told that petrol stations are very rare in the region and they were right - in 5 days we saw the 1 and station.

The ride was bumpy to say the least - whoever was unlucky enough to sit in the back had the sutcase strapped in next to them. We knew the skis were still on top as Josh managed to never tie the lead down so it flapped. The one little stretch of sealed road was welcomed as we could play Alices CD she picked up from a street hustler in New York.

Night one we stayed at a little B&B called Robertas. We drank and ate dinner with the locas at yet another little beach bar.

Day 2 we made it to the town of............... - We check into the worst hotel ever as everywhere else was booked and signed up for a sunset surfing lesson with Juan.  The surf was amazing, waves were sooooooo huge, the sunset was stunning - the only annoying thing was Juan playing game of numbers and having a crack at both Alice and I as he taught us surfing. if only he were slighty good looking...........

That night we went to our local bar and played more of the card game Asshole. It was pretty fun.

The next day we explored the area - got caught up in a big cow stampede, past the alcoholics anonymous shed

Mitsubishi Lancer Sedan Welcome to our fun summer journey through Costa Rica. While it was a hired 4WD as we were overseas - we became fast friends with our car "Jimmy" and were very sad to have to give him back after the trip.
