We completed this trip without incident over the Easter break in 2011. We covered a lot of ground but did it comfortably in the time.  The roads were in reasonable condition.  We used the guide book to give us more detailed information along the way, but those sites that needed an explanation were well signed. The scenery is constantly changing as you move through different areas. Suitable for all ages. As with any outback travelling, be aware of the weather conditions, past, present and expected.  Some of the roads travelled flood quickly with minimal rain, but...

In my 1995 NJ Pajero 3.0L Manual.     Loved the driving from Woods Point to Walhalla. It was a great Family Trip and Fun for the Kids. Camped at the Rubicon River SItes.     Plenty of Photo Opportunities along the drive.     Thinking of Going up that way again soon. And next I will have to allow for more time. I also need to read more about the Area and more on Camping Grounds.     Does anyone recommend a good "Camping" book for Victoria that includes also details...

Well Hello all very new here but am going to give it a good shot. Bought our triton dual cab March 2009 and have not stopped loving it, i must admit it has done 25000 on the  black stuff and 5000 maybe 10000 if lucky on the dirt (the fun stuff). We go camping whenever our lives let us and love it. Previous to the Triton we had trusty hilux's then it was time for a change when the trust was lost with toyota so off we went nervous yes and whack we jumped in and am still there. We...

Ok, so it wasn't a serios off road adventure, but when you consider that all my previous cars have been low slung V8 sedans, it was pretty cool being able to trundle down a fire trail and not worry. A beautiful day meandering down the trail, great walk when we got the falls and then, because I could, I used 4LLC to climb back out. Yes I know I didn't need to, but hey, I've got it so why not?? Now I'm sure I probably broke some cardinal 4WD rule in doing this, but hey I'm...

Its great to see water at the Boonie Doon bridges again! It's been many years since water has been under the bridges and thanks to some good rainfall it has returned the lake to how I remembered it as a young bloke. A worthwhile detour on the way is a drive through the old beautifully built Cheviot railway tunnel near LImestone with easy access and well worth the visit. From Boonie Doon we took the "Skyline Road" to Eildon over the mountains taking in spectacular veiws to the snow-capped peaks of Mt Buller and Mt Stirling with...

I had a meeting not far away that day so decided to get a quick hike in before heading back to Perth. There a many peaks to climb and it is worth seeing it in Wild flower season which is quickly approaching. The Stirling ranges is special-not only for its peaks which climbers use for training, but also that it is one on the worlds bio diverse hotspots. Whilst you dont need a 4wdrive to get there I thought...

Seems Mitsubishi Australia hid a problem with it's Pajeros. They have a soft crankshaft bolt, that stretches, resulting in pulley failure. Mine failed luckily at low speed and I lost my steering on a bend and collided with some trees. Ivé since repaired the car a few thousand dollars later, but since I can't trust it for much more than city work, Ive replaced it with a Toyota. Google SR-01-002 for information on this under engineered component and what you need to do. Good luck. I did love that car
