The Dawson River is one of the main tributaries of the mighty Fitzroy River system of Central Queensland. Rising on the central Downs north of Injune close to the well known Carnarvon Gorge National Park, it is commonly crossed by many tourists, but rarely it seems fished. As it winds eastward, the Dawson crosses the Leichardt Highway at Taroom and again at Theodore skirting the Precipice National Park along the way as its path takes a more northerly route. Passing through the towns of Moura and Baralaba the Dawson River gains some momentum where the Don River joins it before...

Both East and West of the town offer beach access to some really impressive beaches such as Conspicuous cliffs and other places like Hush Hush beach. The picture attached is driving out to Long Point East of Mandalay beach. All very impressive coastline and places I truely love in this country. Sandy and I headed off in early November in our trusty Pajero with the caravan in tow to check out some of the Eyre Peninsula. On our second day out we called into Cowel for some fresh oysters (they dont get any fresher than when they are still alive). By 4.00pm we had the caraven set up at the Tumby Bay caravan park and we were drinking champagne and shucking oysters. Tough but someone has to do it. Touring around Port Lincoln and Coffin Bay is great with a couple of the highlights being a fishing charter (lots of good sized King George whiting...

Its great to see water at the Boonie Doon bridges again! It's been many years since water has been under the bridges and thanks to some good rainfall it has returned the lake to how I remembered it as a young bloke. A worthwhile detour on the way is a drive through the old beautifully built Cheviot railway tunnel near LImestone with easy access and well worth the visit. From Boonie Doon we took the "Skyline Road" to Eildon over the mountains taking in spectacular veiws to the snow-capped peaks of Mt Buller and Mt Stirling with...

In the winter months we go to Bluff creek down Albany way chasing the salmon for a few days, which is always good fun with some friends in our fishing club. The rest of the year we tend to go every where, north or south chasing tailor herring whiting mulloway and whatever else we can find. At times the fishing can be great only an hour from Perth and there are times you can travel several hundred clicks and not get a bite, but thats...

I have so far caught approximately 30 barra at the Daly River in 2009 and am looking forward to many more areas in Australia where my 3.5 mtr tinnie and I can fish with lures.

There’s one flight in and out of the Island from Sydney each day, it leaves the Big Smoke just after lunch, so there’s no need for any early morning red eye horror plane rides. Situated 400 miles north east of Sydney (straight off...

Fishing is feral in the cape. Darren Morgan with a nice emperor caught while fishing with Jim Borthwick from All Fed Up - Gone Fishing Weipa. Let me say first that we are not talking the animal kingdom here we are talking of guys that have not been to the cape before, but get the chance to do what most of us dream of doing once in a lifetime. On the first day we travelled from Cairns to the Wenlock River. Most of us had never been outside in the wide open spaces,...

The Hook, Line and Sinker crew travelled to Bermagui on the South Coast of NSW for a spot of marlin fishing. They only had one day to catch the king of all game fish – lucky they turned up during a hot bite! We flew into Melbourne from our home of Tassie and thanks to plane delays didn’t arrive until almost 8pm. We were due to leave the picturesque harbour of Bermagui at 6.30 the next morning, so it was obvious we weren’t going to get much sleep! At just after 4.00am we...

I went on a fishing trip with my mate steve to Corringle across the river from Marlo at the mouth of the mighty snowy river. The system was chock full of Salmon and tailor and while we were casting of the shore and pulling fish upwards of 50 cm ,many boaters tried their luck trolling with limmited success. The evenings were spent catching bream and horse EP's , of the fish we kept , all had a layer of fat around its gut. AT night we fished for gummies off the beach and managed a couple , not the trucks we...
