Completely drenched in Stratford
My family of four boys, my husband and I packed up our new car and trailor for our first camping trip to Stratford with a group of friends. It was great to travel in comfort as we had spent so many years in our 91 Pajero with no air-con that we felt like royalty!!
After setting up camp we relaxed and enjoyed the first night, which was a clear starry night. The next morning there was a light rain that progressed into heavy falls by the end of the day! It was certainly one wet night in our tent! We were booked to stay four nights however unfortunately the rain did not stop, and the river we were camped next to began to rise rapidly!
We had five hours notice to pack up camp and leave before our tent was washed away with all our belongings! I can tell you it was certainly one funny sight seeing all of us trying to pack up everything in the pouring rain. By the end we were drenched and over it! But at least we managed to save our tent so we can hopefully enjoy another holiday without a down pour!
