Gippsland

If you’re after a challenge in your 4WD, look no further than Gippsland. With many unsealed roads and tracks throughout its forests, fern gullies and mountain ranges, it proves a perfect destination for adventure seeking drivers.

The Alpine National Park and the surrounding high country are popular for spectacular scenery and challenging terrain as is Mt Baw Baw National Park near Walhalla. The legendary Wonnangatta Station tour and the Dargo/Grant diggings are famous Victorian four-wheel driving tours.

During the wetter months of the year many roads and tracks are closed to the public (usually between June and November). To find out about track closures and conditions be sure to contact Parks Victoria or a local four-wheel drive club. For maximum safety and fun, you can hire an experienced guide to take you through some of the more remote and less frequently driven tracks.
