Victor Harbor

Victor Harbor is all about the sun, surf, sand, stunning views and intimate wildlife encounters.

It's here that you'll find the Little Penguins of Granite Island, Southern Right Whales blowing into Encounter Bay, and some of South Australia's best surf.

Granite Island can be reached via a 600 metres causeway from Victor Harbor. Take a Clydesdale-drawn tram or walk across and absorb the stunning sea views. More than 135,000 visitors annually enjoy this experience. It has carried more than one million passengers from all parts of the globe, and the horses particularly fascinate the children.

Victor Harbor features outstanding early colonial architecture, good pubs, cafes and restaurants, and plenty of accommodation and fun events to attend.

Visit the South Australian Whale Centre or climb aboard the Cockle Train for a steam rail experience along the cliff tops to Port Elliot and Goolwa. Find your own fun at Greenhills Adventure Park, the Dunes Mini Golf Course and Urimbirra Wildlife Park.

The Victor Harbor Farmers market showcases regional produce from across the Fleurieu Peninsula and Kangaroo Island. The market operates every Saturday in Grosvenor Gardens. At the markets you can find anything from pies, dips, chutneys, fish, honey, mushrooms, flower, oysters, wine, biscuits and even locally made ice cream. Entry to the market is free. The market operates from 8am to 12.30pm every Saturday.

It’s not hard to see why generations of South Australians have made Victor Harbor their summer holiday destination.
