Wombat State Forest and Lerderderg State Park

Approximately 90 kilometres from Melbourne, the Wombat State Forest and adjoining Lerderderg State Park offer enthusiasts numerous 4WD tracks and forestry roads, some of which are difficult with steep gradients and rocky sections.

There are numerous picnic spots throughout the forest to enjoy during a break. This forest is still actively logged so watch for logging trucks and motorcyclists who take trail bikes along these popular tracks.

Many roads in the Lerderderg State Park are closed between June and the beginning of November as the park is within a water catchment area. This limits roads available. Please direct queries to Parks Victoria.
