North Stradbroke Island
North Stradbroke Island or “Straddie” as it is affectionately known, is situated about 30kms south east of Brisbane.
One of the world’s largest sand islands, the eastern side of the island offers kilometres of white sandy beaches and pounding surf while the western side enjoys the calmer waters of Moreton Bay and fishing townships.
The island’s unspoilt beaches are perfect for swimming, surfing, snorkeling and scuba diving and the surrounding waters are home to a wide range of marine life including migrating humpback whales, dolphins, turtles and manta rays. Head up to Point Lookout at the northern tip of the island to get a better view.
